Abstract

The need for social distancing in the face of the COVID-19 Pandemic that devastated several places in the world and came as a surprise to the World Health Organization, several other problems have arisen, among them psychological ones. The loss of normal routine and the reduction of contact with society causes many insecurities and feelings of loss of freedom that trigger frustration and a greater likelihood of emotional problems, especially in those who are developing (children and adolescents), by being at home for more time, would be exposed to stressful family environments, while adults experience economic impacts, exhaustion, fatigue, and mental health problems. What we notice, in the face of such groups, are the mental health impacts related to their vulnerable developmental stage. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the need for follow-up by medical and behavioral health professionals, as well as increased access to mental health services for this audience.
