A felicidade como estado de ser e de crescimento econômico
Abstract
Despite the advances in contemporary society, related to the dignity of the human person and the state of being itself, point to the reanalysis of socioeconomic development within Brazilian society, to the detriment of the old liberal model that prevailed at the end of the last century, where there was a minimum State intervention in personal relationships, especially those related to those of an economic nature. Since the constitutional provision of the principle of human dignity, where we must include the search for happiness itself, we must also consider the discouragement of the economic model excessively focused on profit, based on the new collective needs recognized throughout the beginning of this century, adopting degrowth measures to meet the new social demands emerging in the contemporary world, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. In this article, we will seek, in the face of new challenges, to point out the changes that have taken place in society, and the challenges to implement a culture of happiness, especially after the promulgation of the 1988 Constitution, to verify the eventual need to proceed with an economic degrowth, reaching if the objectives of this new society and its direct relationship with the economic aspects, besides pointing out the questions inherent to the dignity of the human person.
