DESAFIOS DA ASSISTÊNCIA AO PARTO VAGINAL SOB A PERCEPÇÃO DOS PROFISSIONAIS DE SAÚDE
Abstract
Normal birth is defined as a physiological event that occurs naturally. Over the years, there was the institutionalization of this process, which became a mechanized event and promoted the exclusion of female protagonism. Based on this, there was a need for discussion about the humanization of childbirth and the Ministry of Health established the Program for Humanization in Prenatal and Birth (PHPN) in order to act on the problems that permeate obstetric care in the country. However, even after two decades of the implementation of this program, the challenges persist, among them, we can mention: asymmetric doctor-patient relationship, lack of prior knowledge of the parturient, medical training based on a medicalized and interventionist technocratic model, belief that the surgical delivery route is safer, in addition to providing time savings and convenience. Faced with this, it is noted that care for vaginal delivery in the country is not yet a predominant reality. In this path, this research seeks to assess the difficulties encountered by health professionals in carrying out vaginal delivery. With regard to methodology, this is an exploratory, descriptive, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach. The collection instrument used will be an interview script with objective and succinct questions, in order to answer the proposed objective of the research. Identify the challenges faced by health professionals in assisting vaginal delivery
