OS IMPACTOS DO PÓS-PARTO E DA AMAMENTAÇÃO NA SAÚDE MENTAL DA MULHER
Abstract
After the birth of the baby, exhaustion and maternal discoveries trigger various internal (and external) pressures that can cause intense psychological problems that are little explored by society in its entirety. The feeding of the unborn child can be something extremely uncomfortable rather than a period of bonding and affection. When facing such problems without psychological assistance and the understanding of those around and the social environment, a harmful feeling and a caring instinct far from being healthy are likely to arise. Although breastfeeding is essential for the baby's health, there is no denying the discomfort mothers often experience during this period. There are numerous disadvantages to extreme pressure about the obligation of breastfeeding. Through studies and bibliographic research, the reasons that trigger psychological problems, such as postpartum depression during breastfeeding, will be demonstrated. The scientific advances in the physical phenomena in obstetrics and gynecology will also be exposed, which contribute to the health professionals' ability to offer assistance capable of meeting the specific needs of women, not only in the biological aspects but specifically, in the psychological processes that go through the reproductive phase. There is, at this point, the need for integral attention without limitations only to the gravitic-puerperal moment and to the mother-child binomial.
