Abstract

Given a scenario today, in which people increasingly introduce the category of fast food to their dietary pattern, there is a greater prevalence of obesity, which is a chronic disease of pandemic character that has become a global health problem. In this reality, breast cancer is one of the three most common types of cancer in the world, which has a significant relationship with obesity, since it works as a risk factor for its development, as well as providing a worse prognosis when compared to patients with eutrophic weight. Due to this situation, it was necessary to search for knowledge about the previously proposed relationship. To this end, an integrative literature review was carried out. Studies were selected that have relevance and are relevant to the proposed theme, as well as justify the theme of evaluating the pathophysiology of obesity as a contributor to the development of breast cancer with publication in the period from 2017 to 2021. Finally, it was obtained as a major result of the contribution of obesity to the development of breast cancer.
