A PRÁTICA DE POSVENÇÃO EM PACIENTES JOVENS QUE TENTARAM SUICÍDIO
Abstract
Suicide attempt is the main isolated risk factor for suicide, a multifactorial event that has been increasing in the last two decades worldwide. The young Brazilian population has been quite affected by this indelible practice, thus generating questions about the postvention practices aimed at helping and treating young patients who have attempted suicide. In this sense, this paper is a literature review based on the guiding question: how can postvention practices help young patients who have attempted suicide? We used articles published from 2017 to 2021, in Portuguese and indexed in the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) database. It is noted that the research was conducted in the period from July 2021 to September 2021 and the descriptors in health science (DeCS) used were: postvention, suicide attempt, suicide, and youth. Finally, we investigated the practices of postvention with emphasis on the young Brazilian population and its benefits in the follow-up and treatment of these young people.
