Abstract

This work aims to understand the challenges faced medical professionals in their fields of activity in the process of the pandemic period (COVID-19). Refers to an integrative literature review, being a method that enables the construction of knowledge and the inclusion of the applicability of results from relevant studies in the practical field. To elaborate the research corpus, queries were made in the health research databases: LILACS, SciELO and PUBMED. The following descriptors were used: “medical care”, “primary health care”, “Covid-19”, “mental health of the medical professional”. The period of publication of the literature was from 2020 to 2022. Based on the estimates of the studies included in the review, it was possible to address the challenges faced by health professionals in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through this study, it was possible to understand how the mental health of the medical professional was camping during the pandemic, the main difficulties, what were the means found to circumvent all the challenges arising from this state of public health that devastated the world.
