Abstract

Opuntia fícus – indica (L) Mill is a plant of various uses, native México and belonging to cactaceae family. In Brazil is cultivated at the northeast, being considered the allocation forgae from the region. This literature review has as objectives to describe and discuss botanical, ecopysiological and economical characteristics of culture with a goal to stimulate your cropping in the arid and semiarid ecosystems.
