STRATEGIC BASIS FOR FOOD SAFETY

Abstract

This article brings together some comments on the strategy of agroecology and agroecological principles to guarantee the food sovereignty of communities, bringing some conceptual elements of the theme, highlighting the key debates in relation to hunger in the world and the failure of the Green Revolution, which in the decade of 1970, was considered the salvation of the shortage of food in the world, forgetting the distribution and access of these products by the majority of the population of the planet. The agroecology as a strategy is to ensure a more equitable distribution of food. For that values the distribution of income, land reform, access to productive resources, exploitation of traditional knowledge, among other processes that end with food insecurity, leading to a distribution of income.
