Abstract

Stingless bees (meliponines) are part of one of the largest groups in the Apoidea superfamily. They are known as stingless bees and produce honey, pollen and geopropolis. Geopropolis is a mixture of plant resins, essential oils, pollen, wax, soil and bee salivary secretions. Among the Caatinga species are the white bee (Frieseomelitta doederleini), jataí (Tetragonisca angustula Latreielle) and uruçu amarela (Melipona mondury). Geopropolis samples were collected, extracted and analyzed by Ultra-Efficiency Liquid Chromatography Coupled to the Diodes Arrangement Detector and Flight Time Mass Spectrometer (UPLC-DAD-QTOF-MS / MS). The analyzes by UPLC-DAD-QTOF-MS/MS allowed to identify acid and hydroxylated triterpene compounds in the three geopropolis samples. The geopropolis of the white bee, besides the triperpenes showed the presence of dihydroxylated and methoxylated flavonoids. Geopropolis of different species of stingless bees are sources of triterpenes and flavonoids.
