The school garden as a pedagogical resource for education in the semi-arid region

: Presents the importance of the garden at school as a pedagogical resource and its contributions to the development of healthy eating habits and wareness of preservation and respect for the environment for education in the semi-arid region. Thus, the present study seeks to verify the effects of the garden as a teaching resource to contextualize an education concerned with the conservation of natural resources and the environment. This is an integrative review carried out through documentary reading of articles found in the Pubmed, SAE digital, UTFPR, Revista Foco and SciELO databases, To compose the discussion of this integrative review, they were selected according to the search criteria, where 11 articles were selected that addressed the topic and were in accordance with the established objectives. This study allowed us to verify that the implementation of a vegetable garden as a pedagogical resource for education in the semi-arid region is an excellent strategy for developing meaningful learning through environmental education and agroecology. The theoretical references that supported the study were Coexistence with the Semi-Arid, Agroecology, Environmental Education and Organic Horticulture.
