Abstract

The technological advancement of drones has provided a number of benefits in different sectors, such as agriculture, logistics and environmental monitoring. However, the growing use of these devices raises pertinent questions about the privacy and security of individuals, as access to sensitive information through cameras and sensors can generate ethical and legal concerns. Given this context, this article seeks to explore the impact of drones on privacy, analyzing the regulatory landscape and proposing solutions to achieve a balance between technological advances and the protection of individual rights. In this context, the main objective of this study is to analyze the impact of drones on people's privacy and identify the regulatory challenges associated with their use. It also aims to propose measures that seek to harmonize the technological innovation provided by drones with the need to safeguard citizens' privacy and security. To achieve the proposed objectives, this article was based on a detailed literature review of studies related to the use of drones, as well as existing laws and regulations that address the issue of privacy and the use of these devices. In addition, analyses of cases of privacy violations related to drones were conducted, allowing for a broader understanding of the challenges faced. The results of the research show that the indiscriminate use of drones can compromise people's privacy, whether in public or private spaces, as well as raising concerns about the malicious use of these devices. The review of current legislation revealed the existence of some regulations, but there are still significant gaps in relation to the effective protection of privacy. Based on the analysis carried out, guidelines were proposed for a more comprehensive and balanced regulatory framework, aimed at guaranteeing the ethical and responsible use of drones, without compromising the privacy and security of individuals.
