Modelos de produção agroecológica familiar
o caso dos distritos de Metuge e Gondola, Moçambique

A produção agroecológica é uma estrutura abrangente para o uso sustentável da biodiversidade que também apoia a produtividade e a resiliência. Os agricultores se beneficiam de sistemas diversificados por meio de maior resiliência econômica, redução da dependência de insumos agrícolas. Os modelos agroecológicos na vertente da agricultura sustentável são caracterizados em agricultura orgânica, biológica, biodinâmica e permacultura, sendo que os agregados familiares são vitais para a transição para mais modelos sustentáveis de agricultura. O presente trabalho objetivou descrever o modelo agroecológico do sector familiar pelo que, com recurso a amostragem aleatória, foram desencadeados inquéritos junto de 200 agregados familiares das comunidades do distrito de pemba-Metuge nas localidades de Metuge-sede (Nacuta) e Mieze, do distrito de Gondola nas localidades de Gondola sede e Inchope sobre os saberes tradicionais e, ou locais das formas de produção. O milho mostrou-se como a principal cultura em todas áreas (100%), a mandioca é mais cultivada em Nacuta (94%), Gondola (84%) Inchope (65%) e Mieze (44%). A agricultura de sequeiro se constituiu o tipo de cultivo mais utilizado pelos agregados familiares com frequências de 98% (Mieze), 94% (Nacuta), 93% (Inchope), sendo a consociação mais frequente (29.40%) constituída de milho, mandioca e amendoim. As características produtivas das comunidades evidenciaram o não uso de quaisquer suplementos agrícolas assemelhando-se ao modelo de produção orgânica.
