Direito, Democracia e Educação
Uma análise acerca da eficácia educacional na produção de valores democráticos
Abstract
This paper aims to promote a debate about the importance of law and education with a view to improving democratic culture in our country, also discussing the relationship between them. The satisfaction of Brazilians in the governmental sphere about democracy was analyzed based on data produced by the Chilean NGO Latinobarómetro held in Brazil, in the years 2016 to 2018, in which, it was noticed that in 2016, 22.8% of the population thought that parliamentarians were involved with corruption and 22.7% the president and his officials, in 2018, these numbers increased, with 26.6% being parliamentarians and 35.3% the president and his officials, when talking about trust in institutions, it was observed that in 2016, 66.1% of the population distrust the Government and 37.2% in the Judiciary, in 2018, this percentage decreased, with 59.3% for no confidence in the Government and 25.2% in the Judiciary. Therefore, it is concluded that the population lacks government assistance, and thus they don´t trust these institutions. The legal norms that dispose of basic education are analyzed, such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Federal Constitution of 1988, the law of guidelines and bases of education, the curricular parameters and the Common National Curriculum Base, all with a view to discovering if there is content capable of producing reflections and democratic feelings in basic education in students. It was verified that the normative documents studied actually encourage these principles to students through norms that provide for the mandatory teaching of democracy in basic education.
