Potentialities and limitations of the use of Artificial Intelligence to decision-making within the scope of Criminal Procedural Law

Abstract

The scientific production created with the objective of raising awareness in the legal community about the potentialities and limitations of the use of artificial intelligence in the legal environment, with emphasis on criminal procedural law. The methodology used for the production was reading of material already published and study of AI ́s that are already used in the Brazilian Judiciary. Therefore, the methodology used for the construction of this scientific research is an exploratory research, with the intention of presenting relevant studies in the area and synthesizing them, under the optimum of these authors who write. Indeed, it has been resumed some points of this study and compared the positive effects, negative and exposed the barriers to be broken, it is believed that the authors have achieved the intended objective, namely, the information to readers about the way the legal scenario is regarding the application of artificial intelligence in the procedural sphere, especially in the criminal sphere.
