Main Article Content
Abstract
Label is all information related to a product that is transcribed in its packaging. That stimulates the consumer to purchase through the information expressed in the nutritional tables. Thus, this study aimed to analyze different labels of nine brands of creamy butter marketed in a supermarket in the city of Solânea-PB, as well as to evaluate their suitability according to the legislation. The verification of conformities was carried out on nine labels of creamy butters, it was carried out through the application of a table with information related to the legislation RDC nº 259/2002, and RDC nº 360/2003. Resulting in 90% of the samples were outside the standards established by the legislation for mandatory information, in which only sample G presented all the information. In addition to the fact that in this study there are still brands that do not report “Absence of Lactose” (22%), which is something of concern, due to the consequences of consumption without awareness of the presence of this component. Thus, this fact highlights the need for greater inspection through inspection by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply and the National Health Surveillance Agency. It is concluded that there is a need for greater inspection by companies to repair the information contained on their labels in order to improve access to information for consumers, and especially there are consumers who have a disorder or disease.
