Abstract

Medical students can have their clinical competences assessed by the Objective Structured Clinical Examination by Stations (OSCE). This method is based on stations previously prepared, in which there is a simulation of real situations of medical care. Each of these stations has an evaluator, who, through a check-list, identifies and scores the main skills evaluated in the student. Commonly, for correction, a printed manual checklist is used. The article aims to report the experience of using Google Forms within the Google for Education system as an online checklist. The experience involved the development of 7 checklists, which were applied in two OSCEs. Items relevant to the assessment of the selected skill were inserted in the form, which had the answer options “Yes” and “No”. As a result of using this online tool, it was possible to perform instant visualization of students' performance. In addition, the use of the online checklist proved to be safe and practical. As for the elaboration of the evaluation instrument, it was simple and extremely intuitive. However, there were some obstacles in assigning scores to the elaborated items. Therefore, more experience with the application of electronic form in OSCEs is needed.
