Abstract

Access to health services involves multiple dimensions, such as adequacy, availability, and socioeconomic factors, and is an important indicator of the quality of care in the health situation of users with diabetes mellitus in Family Health Units. This study aims to identify the repercussions of the analyses of the health situation of diabetic users under evaluation by the health team of the USF Leidson Assis de Queiroga in Pombal - PB. This was a qualitative, documentary, and retrospective study. The study population was constituted by the analysis of data available in the Online System of the DataSUS platform, in the period between August and December 2024. The collected data were formulated according to the indexes existing in DataSUS and organized in a Microsoft Office spreadsheet (Excel® 2024). The results of this study show the close relationship between diabetes and complications arising from this comorbidity, especially in low-income populations, with factors such as sedentary lifestyle and inadequate diet driving the prevalence of the disease. The importance of integrated prevention programs involving education, physical activity and public policies to promote equity in access to health care for users with diabetes was highlighted. A multisectoral approach, investment in professional training and improvements in monitoring systems are suggested as ways to overcome these obstacles and improve care management, aiming to reduce inequalities and improve the quality of life of users with diabetes.
