Ultrasonography (US) is a radiation-free imaging method that visualizes organs and tissues through ultrasound waves in real time. Given the practicality of use, portability, non-invasive and low cost, it has been increasingly used in medical practice, becoming a progressive demand for knowledge and skill in the medical work environment, in specialization programs and, currently, in the curriculum of medical graduation in the world. Aimed to evaluate the delivery of ultrasound teaching to medical students. This is a cross-sectional, quantitative study with a descriptive focus, with a sample consisting of 45 students from the first to the sixth year of the medical course. Theoretical and practical training was carried out on the basic aspects and obtaining an ultrasound image in a human model. For data collection, the following were used: sociodemographic questionnaire; questionnaire on ultrasound aspects in three previously determined periods (pre, post and post 90 days of training); and an opinion poll with five questions regarding the training offered. Data were analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 program. Among the 45 students, 24 were men, 38 from the State University of Pará, 17 from the sixth and 14 eighth period, with an average age of 23 years, from several municipalities in the interior of the state. The participants had a higher average score in the post evaluation (76.4%) compared to the pre-evaluation (57.1%), with a small drop after three months evaluation (68.9%) of the training, evaluating that the teaching of US should be part of the medical curriculum at graduation, aiming at reducing the levels of insecurity in handling the device. Concludes the teaching of US, with its significant role in helping learning and enhancing the medical act, proved to be able to significantly increase students' knowledge, making them aware of the importance of progressively increasing the handling of the device and its insertion in the crates medicine course curricula.
