Venda irregular de medicamentos em estabelecimentos comerciais no município de Tauá-CE

Abstract

The research was carried out in the city of Tauá, located in the Microregion of Sertão dos Inhamuns. The municipality borders Pedra Branca and Independência to the north, Parambú and Arneiroz to the south, Mombaça and Pedra Branca to the east, and Quiterianópolis and Parambú to the west. Socioeconomic and demographic factors make the municipality a favorable environment for the sale of illegal drugs. The objective of the work was to carry out a survey of data on the main points of illegal drug sales and the risks of self-medication, focusing on the main types of medications purchased inappropriately by the population. This is a descriptive and documentary study with a quantitative/qualitative approach. 64 sales locations were analyzed, where 68.75% illegally market drugs to the population. The results obtained alert to the easiness that the Taua population has to market and acquire some types of medication and the exposure to a series of adverse reactions when adhering to the practice of self-medication, especially when using these medications without medical advice.
