The general objective of this study is to report the experience of the Children's Day event in a socio-educational practice in the COVID-19 pandemic. The Children's Day event was proposed with the initiative to alert basic health care, which could be adopted in everyday life to minimize the spread of the new coronavirus. The didactic teaching tool used to alert the population was the use of illustrative and didactic banners, which were created by students of the social project of the Social and Environmental Responsibilities Center. The content present in the banners aimed to clarify and emphasize the care recommended by the Health Institutions, including: “How to properly sanitize your hands”; “Why use 70% alcohol to sanitize hands” and “Production of eco-soaps: sustainable measures for the mitigation of environmental impacts”. This strategy made the population aware and makes the students become critical subjects in the elaboration of banners and that seek knowledge in their teaching-learning process. Finally, the strategy was a constructive experience, one can observe the involvement of students, children and guardians in the proposed activities, in addition to promoting playful and dynamic learning in the classroom.
