Validação de material educativo sobre vitamina k para orientação de pacientes em uso de varfarina

Warfarin is a vitamin k antagonist oral anticoagulant that has a narrow therapeutic range and its use is related to important adverse events. Several factors can interfere with the safety and efficacy of warfarin, including vitamin K intake. The aim of this study was to validate an educational material in folder format with guidelines related to vitamin K and warfarin for use as a resource in the control of anticoagulation in patients outpatients attended at a specialized outpatient clinic of a high-complexity public university hospital, specialized in cardiology, pneumology, and cardiac and thoracic surgery in São Paulo. This is a methodological study in which validation was carried out by specialists in anticoagulation and by patients using warfarin. For the specialists, an adapted questionnaire was used that addressed three main aspects: objective, structure and organization, and faithful. Validation by the target audience was done through a questionnaire that addressed items related to organization, writing style, appearance and motivation, as well as allowing comments to be made in the open field. 7 specialists were included, 2 pharmacists and 5 physicians, and 3 patients were included in the target audience stage. The conclusion of this study allowed the validation of the educational material with guidelines related to vitamin K and warfarin for use as a resource in the control of anticoagulation in outpatients with the participation of professionals and the patient using warfarin, which could circulate in the scientific community.
