The research was carried out in the city of Tauá, located in the Microregion of Sertão dos Inhamuns. The municipality borders Pedra Branca and Independência to the north, Parambú and Arneiroz to the south, Mombaça and Pedra Branca to the east, and Quiterianópolis and Parambú to the west. Socioeconomic and demographic factors make the municipality a favorable environment for the manifestation and transmission of Tuberculosis (TB). The objective of this study was to carry out a preliminary analysis of official cases (2013 to 2015) of TB, emphasizing the quantitative aspects of the tests carried out and the geographic distribution of cases in the city's neighborhoods and surrounding areas. This is an epidemiological, descriptive, documentary study with a quantitative approach. Of the 671 records of notifications, 348 were bacilloscopic exams for males (51.86%) and 323 for females (48.15%). The age group where the greatest demand for TB was in individuals aged over 60 years with 207 diagnoses (30.85%) followed by individuals aged 49 to 50 years with 116 diagnoses (17.29%). It is necessary to alert the population linked to an effective health system, with qualified professionals and quality equipment.
