Abstract

The present systematic literature review had the objective of identifying the repercussions of the Mozart Effect on epilepsy in children, as a way of expanding and supporting the works that seek to turn this non-invasive and non-pharmacological intervention on a therapeutic potential. The work was executed in six phases, using the Descriptors in Health Sciences in english, combined as follows <<Effect AND child* AND epilepsy AND Mozart>>. For this, Medical Published and Virtual Health Library were used as databases. Furthermore, the free language was adopted and 13 articles were selected, obtained through sorting of 91 studies. There was a predominance of English and a reduction in parasympathetic activity and epileptiform discharges in children was evidenced when listening to Mozart's songs, showing that there are significant benefits in the crisis interval, confirming its efficiency in the treatment of epilepsy in children. Emphasizes it, however, an imprecision of the specificity of the therapeutic effect on Mozart's sonata, because there is a limitation as to the use of other music for this purpose.
