Inovação pedagógica na residência de enfermagem pediátrica: Integração de ferramentas digitais para superar desafios institucionais

When implementing the Residency, many challenges arise for coordination. The workload of the theoretical axis of the residency is one of them. Because it is extensive, it often presents itself as a challenge. The study aims to describe the experience of managing a Pediatric Nursing Residency Program in coordinating the theoretical channel. This is a descriptive study, of the experience report type, based on the restructuring of the specific theoretical channel of the Program. The experience was reported on three axes, the first is a mapping of the program to analyze the teaching and learning processes that could be improved through the SWOT matrix management tool; the second refers to a restructuring of educational strategies of the specific theoretical channel; and the third points to the description of the Pedagogical Action Plan. When we analyzed the weaknesses presented in the SWOT matrix, the problem related to scarce and unprepared human resources for Teaching became clear, especially in the theoretical axis of the program. As a viable approach to overcome such conditions, digital tools were integrated, seeking to make part of the content available online. The adoption of this pedagogical approach resulted in the creation of theoretical content that can be reused on multiple occasions, contributing to increasing productivity and optimizing the work of the institution's teaching staff. Aspects that solve most of the “weaknesses” indicated in the SWOT matrix. Furthermore, the diversification of teaching methodologies and the incorporation of varied educational resources gave the subject a more dynamic, interesting and innovative character.
